I split the vr signal with the stock ecu (to drive the cluster) and with the megasquirt. B5 A4’s didn’t have immobilizer in the US. It has a CEL. When I need to pass inspection I swap in the stock injectors, maf, coilpacks and plug everything back into the stock ECU / stock tune.

i blew the motor at nyirp on opening day this year. i was only able to run a 13.3 at 106. my fuel pressure gauge fell apart, and a chunk of it went down the line and blocked off my #4 injector resulting in a melted #4 piston (see first pic)

don’t need to build the transmissions on these (you can’t really). I replaced my 1.8 transmission with a 2.8 transmission though (supposedly stronger, and better gearing for highway)

dunno about stock clutch, i took it out at 88k when i replaced the transmission and it looked fine.

stock motor went 107k miles.

My A4 has about 100k on it… stock everything… tossing around upgrading it a bit… worried about the transmission… guess I shouldn’t?

But would love to check this out when you are done… and look forward to the updates.

arn’t all 96+ A4’s quattro? otherwise they’d have to put the engines in transverse like the jetta.

Not really, just been driving it. Did a little tuning the other night and got the injectors to 85% duty cycle (60lb, but running at 4 bar)
