I don’t see that much alike other than the fact they are 4 door hatches. the roof line is totally different and for a few grand more for the civic you can run 2 seconds faster. congrats you bought a turd 06 civic.
check your numbers. with 126hp and 131ft-lb, my car runs a 1/4-mile faster than every current Civic other than the Si, and MAYBE the EX. For $12,500, almost fully loaded.

0 - 60 mph: 9.5 sec
1/4-mile: 17.1 sec @ 80 mph
I can’t find stock stats for a 2005 Civic, but those numbers put the Reno as faster than any 2004 or older Civic LX/DX/HX/VX/CX/GX, and faster than an auto EX. It puts it at two-tenths of a second slower than a five-speed 2004 Civic EX, and obviously slower than an Si.

the pic you showed is the new SI not the other models. Si will be the only hatch in the line up dude so for 18k you can run 14’s pretty easy with the new 200hp motor in the above car
if you really want to get crazy about it the Reno is the 6th gen civic rear and tails so in reality it did steal a civic design.
either way I would rather have the Si over a reno. for a few grand more you have motor that will last, loves mods, suicide rear doors with hidden handles, nicer wheels, more aerodynamic, etc. sorry blayner you should have bought a 01 gsr for less and had something worth being talked about on a car forum

The new Si is going to be a coupe. We are probably NOT getting the five door hatch in any trim line. And how do you figure a new Si will be 18k when the last Si started at 20k?
if you ignore him maybe he will go away. 
Apples and oranges. The Si is almost twice as expensive as a Reno. As for a motor that will last, GM’s been using my motor in various forms since the mid-80s Vauxhall Astras. I’m not saying the new Civic won’t be a good car, but it’s definitely biting someone’s style…
And an 01 GSR wasn’t even in consideration. I wanted a car with 0 miles and a long warranty, and I’m keeping mine for the forseeable future. If gas keeps going up however, I’ll probably end up buying a Toyota Yaris when they come out next year… or if Honda brings out something less queer looking than the Fit, I’ll be on it.
And don’t think I’m one of those “I just fucking hate Hondas” people. Favorite car I ever owned was an 89 CRX DX. If Honda still made anything remotely close to that, I wouldn’t have bought a Reno. But Honda hasn’t made a compact I’d bother sitting in since the 2000 hatch. The 2001+ Civics drive like fucking Cavaliers with less torque. And the Si hatch is underpowered and overpriced.

it has navigation (optional i think), LSD, and a 6 speed. i still wouldn’t buy one because they’re way too heavy :down: and the engine bay looks REALLY cramped.
