my friends 35R gti

the beauty of AWD. i wish i had it. he swapped the back half of an R32 and a tranny from an audi TT

silly bastard! i would <3 an awd car if i had one.

i would love 1.5-1.9 second 60fts on street tires. :headbang stupid FWD car

i’m assuming that the awd conversion he has is out of your price-range?

out of my capacity is more like it. he had the shop space. welder, grinders and all of that… he got a smoking deal on the parts. cost under 4,000 to do the conversion. i wouldnt go that deep with this car… id buy an R32 and swap a 1.8t in :mwahaha

wasn’t really sure what all was involved… made it sound like a bolt in. i agree it would probably be cheaper / easier to just trade up to R32 and 1.8t it.

My brother was just at the dealer looking at them and GTIs. He loves the dubs.

youve gotta change the rear suspension to the R32 IRS, R32 fuel tank, R32 back half floor pan, the Haldex rear end, new exhaust, then you need the Haldex output for the front, the ECU for it, the TT bellhousing and 6speed tranny, then youve gotta either buy or build a Haldex controller for the AWD function. alot of welding and grinding involved, aligning. much patience.

just find a blowm motor r32, get a bell housing from a 225tt, swap out the harnesses and your good to go. i wonder if anybody actually did this swap?

i havent seen another 1.8t R32 swap ever… most people turbo those 3.2’s now and make 400+whp at low boost settings

i’d still kinda wanna have a 1.8t over the 3.2. more of a 1.8t guy.

thats because you havent driven a fast VR6. :ohnoes

That’s nuts…he BLOWSSS the tires off :ohnoes

1/8th mile racing FTL.

when your closest 1/4 track is not open yet, and the next closest is like driving to Etown… id go 1/8th mile too, when its only like 20minutes away. its all the same. unless youre driving a tractionless wonder all the racing is in the first 1/8th
