Gives me the blue screen of death regardless of the boot mode, gives a 0x00000024 error which I guess is some ntfs.sys file problem, so until my genious friends get a chance to fix it I won’t be doing much shifting.
Be back soon enough hopefully, I’ll check back from Jeremiah’s comp occasionally.
Thats a memory address Benny. Looks like your hard drive has a corrupt sector, and that sector happens to be used in booting. Get a new hard drive and you should be good to go. Check out newegg.com for good prices on those.
yeah operating system re installation is always a good quick fix… if by chance it dos not work diagnosing the drive would be my next step. then the memory.
Laptop’s warranty expires 1/09, which also comes with Gold Tech Support/ProSupport so I talked with this weird dude for like two hours yesterday, tried a couple things to no avail so he overnighted me a windows cd, just ran chkdsk and fixed a few errors.
next step is run windows on top of my old install to get some stuff back, then do a clean re-install…any ideas on getting my xp notebook to send shit to my rommates computer to bak it up?
Share a folder on the other computer, find the computers name or ip and then on the laptop try to map a network drive. Usually something like this: \computername\shared folder
That should work, do a google search for basic home networking XP. I would type more but I’m on a tablet PC.
