But I finally “finished” the last part of the conversion - after 10 years (lol)… courtesy of a $12 USB to TTL cable, OBD plug and some open-source hacking:
Now, the only “Pontiac” left is on the registration sticker.

Those gauges are really nice, you’d think they would have come up with something better than the Atari-esque screen.
You’d figure, but I can’t complain for an '04. Just reminded myself that the cluster dates back before the iPhone. Good thing too, as the cluster programming runs on an 8196-baud serial connection… And since I have the cable and laptop setup already, I might try out some “custom” prompts, just for kicks.
