But I finally “finished” the last part of the conversion - after 10 years (lol)… courtesy of a $12 USB to TTL cable, OBD plug and some open-source hacking:
Now, the only “Pontiac” left is on the registration sticker.

only thing left to do is move the steering wheel to the other side.
Those gauges are really nice, you’d think they would have come up with something better than the Atari-esque screen.
You’d figure, but I can’t complain for an '04. Just reminded myself that the cluster dates back before the iPhone. Good thing too, as the cluster programming runs on an 8196-baud serial connection… 
And since I have the cable and laptop setup already, I might try out some “custom” prompts, just for kicks.
