MY NC trip and Goodyear tire story.

did you read? i said he SHOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT

dont you DARE say i’m making excuses for that company. i quit that company several months ago for a MULTITUDE of reasons. i am NOT making excuses, only preparing him for what THEY will say, b/c thats how it is written in their structure.

seriously though, cry me a river about it. go find me ANOTHER magical fairy tale tire place that won’t say the EXACT same thing. did he get the bad part of a bad situation? yes and i never said he didn’t. will EVERY OTHER TIRE STORE IN THE WORLD do the same thing and have the same reaction? you bet your bottom dollar on it

first of all, don’t cry about spending a ton of money on tires. noone forces ANYONE to spend a G or whatever on tires. tires are THE most important part of a car aside from the motor. you want to spend 10 bucks on tires, good luck getting a thing out of it. spend a thousand, chances are you’re either a. getting a really good tire, or b. a really bad deal. but the point is, theres a dozen tire stores within a block of EVERYWHERE. you don’t like the deal, go somewhere else, BUT don’t think that just b/c everyone wants to say “waaah waaah goodyear sucks”, go to firestone and see how great they are in the same situation. go to dunn tire and see how PISS POOR their warranties are. go to fox tire, get a good deal, and get the shaft from either of the foxes…good prices, but trust me, they give you the shaft.

am i saying goodyear is the best? FUCK NO, but don’t sit and say everything in the world is goodyears fault and they are the ONLY ones who have “bad customer service.”

if you’re that pissed off, call 1-800-GOODYEAR and bitch to them and see what they do. half of the time, they will give you some sort of repayment for your hassle just in case they think the store handled it wrong, and THEN they call the store right away and inform them of what they did wrong and what never to do again lol

last things…was the tire losing air? apparently. whats the first thing to do when a tire is losing air? put the donut on, maybe? not drive 600 miles on a tire thats losing air and expect it to be perfectly fine. you want to cry about “paying for the warranty and having it mean dick?” guess what, that warranty just saved him paying ANOTHER $250 for a tire he’d have to shell out if he didn’t have it. its called INSURANCE, not give you the world on a platter for free. the tire was covered and replaced, now you buy insurance on the new tire, thats how it works. should he have to pay for M+B since it was (at least in part) goodyears fault? no, but whatever, i don’t work there anymore so its not my call. if he had come to see me, obviously i would have taken care of him b/c i do that for my customers and my friends, as most ANY person on here that came to me would tell you i went the extra mile as best i could

so yea, screw goodyear and the horse they rode in on

lol

stopped reading original post at the first ‘peace’

Well I guess a new update.

I went in today to see cathy, and she was vary nice (they where having a store manager meeting in the back room).

she told me she had talked to the NC store and that they offered to pick up my tab (apparently she heard of the fuss I put up yesterday.) so she had me sign off they allowed me to pull my car in and out of the bay. and they also alowed me to keep the old tire. (Ill probibly get a stock rim and use that as a spare as my Donut now has about 1000 miles on it).

So over all after today I would say that I think they did alot better and added a little in my book. I guess the real negitives of the hole deal was how long every thing took but for such an odd car and tire size I cant complain too much.

and JDMR2 I never disagreed with what you said. but I just tried to fight to save a few bucks as over all I really dont think its my fault. As I really didnt want to drive all
the way back from NC on the donut I drove alll the way down there on.

I’m also VARY imprest with the mitsu Donut I have been so hard and driven soooooo many miles on that thing.

they run a tight ship at that goodyear store. i’m glad they got you taken care of. at the managers meeting they had 3 “big wigs” from akron there so they definately didn’t want anybody fussing up front that day so the probably helped you a bit.

what kind of tires did you get?

i never said you did, that big rant was mostly in response to BikerFry who thinks that b/c he had a bad experience that everyone and their sister will and that the company just sucks…no bad words towards you :stuck_out_tongue:

im glad to hear things worked out, they usually do (especially if you do bitch a little bit lol). i wasnt posting all that to say “you’re stupid” or “its all your fault”…i just posted the guidelines of RH and how the company looks at it. i am VERY glad to hear that the NC store did what they had to do, which IMO does show that Goodyear will go the extra mile when need be. cathy is a very loyal advisor and i am happy to hear she did do the extra legwork of calling them. the sheridan drive store is one store that although they might move slow, they get what they say they will done and i did enjoy working there

off the beaten path tho, i know i asked way early in this thread, but what tires did you actually get? i know its a 235/45R17 (at least it should, thats factory) and it would have to be an Eagle to be that pricey…RS-A? lemme know…

in any automotive tire place road hazard does not cover the whole tire.if its in 30 days a i do cover the mounting and balancing but i still make my customers pay the road hazard. he could of not bought that warranty and i assure you he would of been sol. do i buy road hazard? i only buy my tires off tire rack.with the mounting and balancing thing it sucks when u have to fix other peoples mistakes.in our company if some one fucks up we take half the labor out of there check no matter where they live.

Acually it was a vary agressive allseason. Im planning on using these for winter and getting a set or rim/tires for the summer. Im not sure what the name is Ill look when I go out there.

Wow, I didn’t mean to get your panties that twisted up. I don’t take a lot of time to make sure what I’m posting makes sense when I’m at work, so I’ll try again:

I have had an unusually bad experience with company XXX. I can get the same product/service from many other companies. Hence, I will no longer do business with company XXX. Hearing about other people with similar problems furthers my confidence in my decision.

But yeah, I guess you’re right. That doesn’t mean that I should tell everyone to not go to company XXX.
