Will today i picked up a 1990 Chevy van. I know a van as a project, the van is not my project. I got the van because of the motor. The motor is a 350 turned into a 383 with all kinds of performance parts in it. I am going to pull the motor out and put it in something. I am think a camaro, s10, or something. I dont know what i am going to do just yet. Here is a couple of pics.
Those engines never looked fun to remove out of a full sized van…
will the body is junk, i am cuting the motor out of it
1st try is going to hate you
why is this
Because you’re gonna get about 1/3 of the way through then take it to Jeff to figure out. Why don’t you wait to worry about cars until you are able to drive one, or have a job that pays enough to be able to afford doing all this shit. Where are you going to cut this van up to pull the motor?
You mean Im taking the motor out
No its not going any where the motor is coming out of it where it sits. Fyi this fucking eyesore is parked right in front of my house so are neighbors can bitch.
definitely a good use of funds… way to go!
How is that different from the other 15 eyesores that are in front of your house??? :tool:
Goodluck, that looks like a bitch to pull out. Maybe you’ll be on “To catch a predator” with that van.
x2.
you should of bought a beater as 4cly car to drive around town then later worry about going fast.
good find
They are not as bad as they look. I’ve done a few of them. You have to take the intake off, so you can lift the motor high enough to pull it forward. That van looks new enough that you can take the front end apart to pull the motor thru the front. The older vans had to have the core support cut to get the motor out.
Since the body is junk, this will make it much easier to get the motor out, anyway. Cut it at the W/S pillars & across the floor behind the motor. Now it is real easy.
Should’ve just kept it in the van and made a mean A-Team van.
Update on the van, I got the front all apart, and started to take some of the motor apart. more pics
…Does it run?
i dont know, it needs some parts
