what is the compression stock on those motors? on my buddies old E12 it was like 8.3:1 or something ridiculous like that.

i think 8:1 with the I head swap, but i could be wrong.
as for the turbo kit, for what i get out of the deal i cant complain becuase i know i can fix anything that goes wrong. its better than starting from scratch
Just got the I head today, now just gotta order my head gasket, valve cover gasket and ARP headstuds Then its onto the tranny issue!
Why ARP’s? Have you done any research on this?
I looked on e30tech and saw someone made mention to run ARP’s. do you have a better option? BTW i really appreciate your criticism and info, MPD.

I did a quick search on e30tech and on google, i can’t find any for sale anywhere for some reason. do you have a rough price i’d be looking at?

not trying to be an asshole, but it doesnt seem like you have done much research…
and the turbokit you got is not that great of a deal
a 200 dolalr manifold, a 400 dollar used turbo that is probably on its way out for not using a BOV at autoX, no FMIC, crappy charge piping, an over complicated oil delivery system that your not going to use…
if you can back out at this time i would, just buy the manifold off ebay, have it checked by a good welder, buy a new turbo and get the correct oil stuff, FMIC and couplers…
ive also got some tuff new valve springs i got from catcams for sale for an i head…

Oh i understand your not being an asshole. unfortunately i can’t back out. i talked to the guy before he shipped the kit and he said he would include a newer rebuilt turbo for me. also for all the little things the kit came with that are brand new that i would have had to buy, the kit came out to being worth it either way. it also saves me from doing some shitty work i would have had to do either way.
Thanks for the help and criticism, i’m one of the few on here that actually it the proper way i guess.
EDIT: with all of the oblivious people on e30tech i don’t think i’ll have too much of a problem selling whatever i don’t use on there to make some of my money back.
Just got the Metric blues. Ordered them yesterday and got them today lol. Now i just gotta wait for my Cometic MLS head gasket to get here and i can bolt the new head on.
Then its on to pulling the transmission.
