So people on this forum cannot have a different opinion then others without being a tool or an idiot because they do not concur with the majority of others?
Different opinions and ideas are what makes us all different.
Everyone is entitled to their own ideas and theories.
The plane my perhaps take off.
Perhaps it won’t.
Only way to know for certain is for the experiment to be tried and tested.

The problem isn’t the difference of opinion, its how the wrong people justify their answer with false logic. That’s what makes them tools.

I agree with you there.
To me it seemed like others were being shunned due to the lack of the majority opinion being followed.
I understand what you mean now, sorry to intrude.
So you are using made up conditions that you are imposing on the question, to justify your answer?

Obviously the question as stated in the original post can be answered with reference to the laws of physics without any additional information - if you weren’t worried about getting a plane to fly in the real world under those constraints without making assumptions as to how it’d be set up in a real world environment. I guess you didn’t realize I was referring to the upcoming Mythbusters episode. That example of an assumption I made (among others) needs to be addressed in their experiment because simply saying that it’ll fly ‘because physics says so’ won’t cut it. It’s one thing to say something will work, but it’s another to get it to happen in the real world. If their goal is to show the plane will move forward, they can easily prove that with a 4ft treadmill and an RC plane. If their goal is to get a real plane to fly off a conveyor (which is what they’re going to try to do), that’s another story.
It’s obviously more of a ‘can they do it?’ thing than ‘will physics allow it?’ thing.

this is earth, this is reality, physics isnt optional, nor is it an opinion. For fucks sake, i took physics back in highschool and i know the planes gonna take off. For all of you ignorant fucks who think the plane wont take off, i hope you die in a firey plane crash :cjerk:
The government should form a task force to go through all these forums and sterilize the morons that didnt think the plane would lift off.
A big step to making this country a better place.

for some reason when i read this, i thought of a skit from george carlin… “the kid who swallows too many marble doesnt grow up to have kids of his own”

I never said i agree nor disagree so please do not make an assumption based off of something i said about others having a different opinion then you.
if your not going to add anything useful now would be a perfect time to down that glass of shut the fuck juice chillin on the counter over there.
Different education? Did they learn about physices on opposite day?

Who knows. Who knows…
Some went to maryvale, while others may have went to lafayette high i guess :gotme:
Not everything is taught the same way in all schools.
