Name this turbo, boxersix enter

Doesn’t look like what I expected… Is supposed to be a GT2871, but which one?

Measure compressor inducer and major diameters as well as turbine exducer(and major if you can get the turbine housing off).

That will tell you exactly what it is. Looking at part numbers on the exterior housings isn’t 100% foolproof with the small frames. Could be something in hiding underneath.

I think I nailed it already, has this tag on it: 446179-5032

pretty sure its from ATP, had the T3 exhaust housing on it.

other companies make the t3 exhaust housings for those, not just atp.

+1

Don’t always trust the housing tag Mike. If you have a mic, it takes but minutes to get the needed dimensions from the compressor to determine the cold trim and get you a ballpark of what it actually is.

I was judging by the numbers found on it. Its this GT2871R from garrett http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/images/catalog/Turbochargers/gt28_pdfs/GT2871R_743347_2.pdf

the T3 and T4 housings are a common option available through ATP.

Adam, did you get my PM?
