Need help from someone with an E36

It’s right there!!!

Stick the camera in there, and take a picture upwards. I’ve done that a few times on cars.

Behind the wiring harnesses right thurrr.

ok, lets finish the game of find that sensor

Attached. Maybe a little higher, but your pic didnt go that far. Behind the metal. Go through the speaker hole and up. Should be held on with a phillips head screw or two.

If memory serves, that is. You’re 94 has the same body control module and harness as the other cars I’ve pulled it out of so it should be the same thing.

I see nothing

I’m gonna need you to look harder.

No seriously I dont know what the first pic is. I’ve never fit my head into that space.

gotta love the go-pro wide angle.

You’re telling me it’s in the space correct? held to the sheet-metal by a screw. I can’t find either anywhere near that speaker hole.

Isn’t there a diagram or something from BMW showing how to find and replace it? I can’t find any results for “body control sensor” anywhere.

Before we waste more time, are you sure this is what is happening based on what I posted before? Dome lights come on at same time, etc?

You guys have personally seen these body control modules on pre-95 non-ms?

I had noticed the dome light has come on while the car has just been parked and off. However, I’m not sure it’s related to the hazard lights which at this point are on all the time that the battery is plugged in.

does the car have the oem alarm?

have you even tried the hazard relay?

Diff problem, movin on.

hazard relay (under hood, I think it’s the middle one in the group next to the fuse panel)
crash alarm relay (all I’ve found is it’s brown and behind the glovebox.

I checked both. They both look fine, I’d rather borrow a working one from another e36 to test first before I buy to replace.

Mike I didn’t see your p.m till tonight man , I’m sorry . I did a quick looksie thru schematics and looks more like a relay as ya think homeboy . Inc I don’t have a spare one kicking around .

“Michael, I didn’t see your PM until this evening, I’m sorry for the delayed response. I did a brief review of the wiring diagrams and it appears as though your problem is caused by a relay as you initially expected, my friend. ??? I do not have one I can spare you.”
