LOL. Thanks john. I’ll hunt one down somewhere.
What do you mean they looked fine? lol they are relays, they dont like explode and leak when they fail? lol
you can borrow my hazard relay to check if you come pick it up, clifton park
Relay didn’t fix it. Back to square one.
It’s not the hazard switch, it’s not the hazard/indicator relay, my crash relay is not the model known to be defective…
now what?
What about a alarm ? Or shorted wires man .
E36 noobitry strikes again! Haha jk, glad its fixed mike!
What was it ???
He had semen shorting the pins in the BCM plug
It’s a b.m.w bennt why ya gotta blow off like that ?
The hazards were on. The easiest way to fix the problem is to turn them off.
Nooooooooooo fucking way lol
nope, didn’t do it. They’re back on.
E36 noobitry strikes again! Haha jk, glad its fixed mike!
it’s not. I came back from dinner to see the bitch blending in with the christmas lights.
Wait what? It’s flashing the hazards again?
i’m going to go ahead and put 5 doll hairs that says it’s behind the glovebox
Last I knew when I talked to him last night his relays were good to go, he just didn’t know you had to reset the hazard switch by turning it on and off after you reconnect the battery.
Right, although the first thing I did was install a new switch so I’m sure I switched it on/off somewhere in the process.
What exactly am I looking for behind the glovebox? The crash relay was below the steering wheel and it sounds like people are telling me to look for the same exact thing behind the glovebox.
So the hazards are still going? You’ll have to do that every time you dis, and reconnect the battery.
flashers are still going. Switch doesn’t seem to affect anything.
The Relay has 8 pins on it:
2:power to relay (flash left)
3:power for hazards from relay
4: Power to flasher (left) PLUS power to hazard switch flashing light AND to crash control module.
5: power to flasher (left)
6: power to relay (hot at all times)
7: power to relay (flash right)
8: Ground
9: to crash control module
When tested with a multimeter
6. (power to relay (hot at all times)) has power.
8: (Ground) has ground
When car is on and stalk is moved
2: (power to relay (flash left)) Gets power
and
7: (power to relay (flash right)) Gets power
When crash module is removed, no change to above. Flashers continue to flash.
When 6: (power to relay (hot at all times)) is taped over, All of the above works the same but nothing flashes. No hazards, no blinkers despite power to 2 and 7.
