When the hazards are on, is the light for the hazard switch flashing or is it off?
Hazard switch flashes while it is depressed.
Just found that one this morning and it is what i’ve been flipping through.
flashers are still going. Switch doesn’t seem to affect anything.
The Relay has 8 pins on it:
2:power to relay (flash left)
3:power for hazards from relay
4: Power to flasher (left) PLUS power to hazard switch flashing light AND to crash control module.
5: power to flasher (left)
6: power to relay (hot at all times)
7: power to relay (flash right)
8: Ground
9: to crash control module
When tested with a multimeter
6. (power to relay (hot at all times)) has power.
8: (Ground) has ground
When car is on and stalk is moved
2: (power to relay (flash left)) Gets power
and
7: (power to relay (flash right)) Gets power
When crash module is removed, no change to above. Flashers continue to flash.
When 6: (power to relay (hot at all times)) is taped over, All of the above works the same but nothing flashes. No hazards, no blinkers despite power to 2 and 7.
I just realized my relay has no pin #3…
what about when the switch is ‘out’ though
what I’m asking is, when the switch for the hazards is not on, is the light on the switch flashing, or no?
did you check that trunk harness?
and you’re saying that when you reset the switch last night they went off and stayed off, but then turned back on again by themselves?
Someone recap the problem and what happens when x, y, and z are done… I’m lost.
When the switch it out it doesn’t flash. That seems to mesh with what i’m seeing on the diagram though. Basically the switch shouldn’t flash while it’s out or else it would flash when ever you turn on your left blinker
It does flash while pressed.
yep, looks fine other than an obvious previous repair attempt. I moved all the wires around and checked them out, they are all shielded fine.
I think the relay wasn’t seated completely and when I hopped in the car to hit the switch it came loose or something. When I came back from dinner it was flashing again. The switch definitely is not affecting anything right now when I turn it on and off.
This is mind numbingly odd.
So wait lol. The flashers were on, you got in the car, hit the switch, they turned off. Then you went to dinner, came back, and they were back on? Just for clarifications sake.
Right now I don’t see a problem at the relay. That pretty much sums it up. It gets power where it should when it should.
So I need to find out what else is affecting it making it do something it is not supposed to.
Everything seems to point toward the relay at the moment but benny’s did the same exact thing when I borrowed it.
Is there a possibility that someone in your house is fucking with you? lolol
bingo.
You should try throwing my relay back in, then cycling the switch with mine just to be sure.
Do you have drivers and passenger airbags or just driver?
Is Clark back in town? He had a ball with that scavenger hunt he sent me on.
I was thinking the same thing.
I have both airbags.
Try this: put everything back together electrically as it should be.
Disconnect battery for a while (a half hour should do it)
Reconnect battery
flashers on? cycle hazard switch
notta. Switch didn’t affect anything.
everything i’ve said is telling me that the crash relay when removed will prevent the hazards from working…
With mine removed, they still work.
Where are the schematics at in this bish
nevermind, looking at them now
