My desktop is close to 7 years old. I’m too cheap to buy something else. This thing only has 256 MB of RAM. It gets choppy when I make it do 4 things at once. I know it’s possible to put more RAM in this thing, I just don’t know how. If someone could explain, that’d be great.
you could replace a 7 year old computer with a brand new one that will be a zillion times better for just a little bit more than buying some ram to upgrade it.
For the most part this is true. Post the make and model number of the computer. If it needs DDR Ram that is going to be pretty expensive, just because it is so old.
DDR2 ram is pretty dirt cheap.
If it needs old SD ram, then forget it.
You can buy a new desktop for about 300 bucks that would be 1000x better than what you have now.
Or buy a used desktop for $150 bucks that is still 100x better.
Putting any money in a 7 year old computer, the kind that had 256 meg of ram, is a waste.

Can include a hard drive with Ubuntu on it for an extra $20; you can use that or install windows on it.
