My son’s laptop calls for this memory:
PC2-4200 DDR2-533 200pin SDRAM SODIMM
Would I be able to install this memory without problems?
Pny 1GB PC5300/DDR2 Notbook/desktop memory.
It is the stuff that Best Buy has on sale for $17.99 per Gb.
If it matters it is an Acer laptop.
as long as its 200pin SDRAM SODIMM, the laptop will just run the ram at a lower speed.
Cool thanks for the info. i was a little confused when it came to the speed. i was thinking that you could use faster ram, but not slower, but I wasn’t sure.
speed is restricted depending on the bus speed of the mainboard. you could put ram in there capable of higher speed and it would work as it’s backwards compatible.
