Ok so I am getting this car tommorow. Its a 98 civic hx, yeah i know what ur thinking but anyways, it has an si motor swap into it. The check engine light is on, and the speedo doesnt work. The car has the hx wiring harness still, and hx ecu. Will my speedo hook back up with a si ecu and wiring harness and will my sensors for my check engine light clear? The problem is because once i buy the car it has to get inspected within ten days since its not from a dealership. Can someone help me please?

dont buy it, or dont drive it without putting in the CORRECT ECU!
i hope the current owner hasnt been driving this car that way long, if at all if your lucky
this sounds like somthing you might want to avoid… lol or atleast get taken care of BEFORE you pay him for the car

the wiring harness has nothing to do with it, just get teh correct ECU in there and hope no major damage has already been done.

I have heard of people running a d15b7 ecu on a d16z6 and being ok…
Not a good idea tho.
Unless the price is KILLER I would look around.
