lol buy it, and be happy that it runs then while keeping in mind the 500 you spend on a POS beat up car like means you’ll need more repairs which will bring the cost of the actual car well above.
Best thing to do for you since you only have a G1, once you get your G2 stick with mommy and daddy’s car, save up till you have more money then buy a real 240 that or offer the guy the 237.39 and make sure he’ll include some zipties…just in case but be sure you’ll be putting more work into it than its worth

Factory aero package worth $350ish
VLSD $150
KA with 200K $300
tranny/driveshaft/5-speed parts - $300ish
rims/tires - $150ish depending on rubber.
front end parts $200 maybe
doors - $100
^ look at it this way, but it around $300, part it out, profit maybe a $1000 (provided you have tools), and you should have $1300ish for hunting for a better chassis.

i’ve had it since july, so not exactly that long. Just been too busy to work on the car. I’ve done quite a bit since getting the car but havent really worked on it the last month. And its less work than that 300 dollar car you’ve got there.
here take my advice…i have the least knowledge here, i was like you a couple of months ago… i asked these nice kind helpful gentlemens about buying this shit box 240… being young and stupid i just wanted a car thinking i can fix it… i bought a 240 with rusted frames. spent 1800 fixing the frames. control arms tie rods and all that shit…and it STILL needed work. but in the end it wasnt worth it… i tossed that shit and i got an is300. now im a happy mother ****er. so really just listen to them…they know alot more than you. but hey…if u really want to waste money… go for it… be an idiot like me

i just got my 240 on the road i have a 89 hatch with the 91+ front on it and everything and in 3 days of having it on the road iv been pulled over for no reason once and questioned about it for no reason once by the cops. and honestly if you dont know a wrench from a ratchet stay farrrrrrrrrrrr away from 240s. they need ALOT of work usealy. its rare u can drive them without somthing blowing up. hell iv had everything from head gaskets to brake lines and clutches to starters and alts. alot of work to keep them in good shape. and mines still a pile. spedo dosent work, running tail lights run off my amp so i have to have it on when i drive at night, my pass window is chosey on when it wants to work… its annoying but fun at the same time… you learn alot aswell. and yeah im a bit drunk atm so im rambleing. have fun tho!!

Well everyone else is giving opinions so… I think MIKE-240 you should buy this car and part it out. not just for the cash, but its only $300. you could learn alot about this car by just parting it.
And these guys are right. That car will not be worth fixing, cars like that (and most others) are liabilities, not assets.
