Dumb question, but I never drove on a snow covered iced over lake. How is the track surface as far as slickness? I assume it’s not as slick as a skating rink but a bit more slick than a snow covered road. Did any of you guys rock studs or just studless snows?
Not a dumb question at all. Alot of people show up on just regular snows, most run studs including myself (hakkas with eco studs for me) and the track is actually alot slicker than what you see in the photos. Most of the long straights are snow covered, but any turn is a sheet of ice, not skating rink ice, but icey enough even with studs on for the car to drift itself. Studs make the day twice as fun really.

I don’t know the guy with the gopro-chopper sorry. But the dude flying it went further and higher than I would have thought he was going to. He was really good at flying the thing even with a little bit of wind that day. He could only fly for about 7-8 mins a charge.
The other ariel photos were done that day by one of they members wives in the real choppper.

No, there was actually an Touareg there tearing it up, it’s helpful to have the ground clearance when you go a bit off course, he had no worries about needing to be towed out and drove like it too.

It’s unfortunate, but the fact of the matter is no one will. The login & signup is so fucked, and slots are so limited telling anyone would jeopardize their own chance of being wait listed. So don’t expect anyone ever to post when this is.
He is kinda right, the sign up is totally retarded, thats exactly why no one brings it up ahead of time. There are talks of the sign up going to a lottery system next year instead. But that makes me concerned about who is running the lottery system then…
They did also make mention of maybe changing venues to colder areas in order to gaurantee conditions and have more events since there are soo many participants, but I would’nt keep my hopes up on those things happening.
