Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War (or Rivals?)

Taking place 15 years prior to the events of Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat Zero seems to focus on an older series of jets than its predecessors. Real world aircraft will appear in the game, including such favorites as the F-15C Eagle and F/A-18C Hornet. Also known to be in the game are the J 35J Draken and the Typhoon.

Gameplay seems to stay true to previous Ace Combat games, with mission-based stages that let players select a jet prior to taking to the skies.

Basically stating the same as the first, but improved AI, MULTIPLE ace squadrons that fly exclusive planes!

In addition to a wealth of minor additions, Ace Combat Zero features a brand new rival squad and ace system.These new enemies often fly exclusive planes and feature ultra advanced AI algorithms, so when they appear mid and post mission, you’ll really be in for a run.

tell me more - is this for PC? simulator or shoot-em-up? I’m an Il-2 nerd, but I’ve got an itch to zoom zoom an su-37 :eek:

graphics are hot, that eagle is almost photo-real. had to blink twice at that one.

Ace Combat Zero is PS2 only. Probably will be compatible with Saitek Flight stick if you purchaced the Limited Edition Ace Combat 5 package. It’s about as close to a flight sim as a console will ever get. If you are looking for Falcon 4.0 detail, you might be dissapointed.

IGN now has trailers for Ace Combat Zero, and they are STELLAR!!!

Found this on a Japanese website about the game, and it seems to verify what IGN reported about the older fighters (Japanese anyone?)

Also, there are two trailers on the IGN website.

Called EBGAMES, and the person I talked to never heard of it, so they have no idea right now. :roll: I don’t think they will know for sure until there is an official concrete release date. However, AMAZON does have preorder screen. Go figure that one. The Amazon screen also indicates a March release.

I have a feeling they are saving multiplayer for the PS3 because that system should be able to handle it better.

Ace Combat 5 wasn’t multiplayer, but I still enjoyed it and it has lots of replay value. The storyline can hold it’s own with any of the best in the industry, and Zero seems to be following in the same vein.

They pushed the release date back. It is now “Spring 2006”.

The “official” game website (dedicated) hasn’t been launched yet. There is a link on the Namco page for it, but it is inactive.
