Good stuff, damn that thing is fast
thats very fast especially on street tires
wow good job! what clutch is the burschur car using?
that wouldnt happen to be nick from rochesters dubr who snapped that pic would it?
That plate is just… so bad ass…
damn man, AWD really does own shit, thats awesome times, and on street tires??? wow
Thanks everyone. Well the first clutch simply fell apart. The disc frayed and pressure plate cracked. The second clutch had a failure 12 hours after install and the broken part was replaced by the manufacturer, but it simply cannot handle the heat of any sort of launch and then have enough bite left to hold gear pulls. On the street after a total cool down it slips going into gears, but it holds pretty well as long as you don’t launch on it.
At this point the Tilton carbon for 3800 dollars is his only option if we want the clutch least likely to break, but it requires slipping it to heat it before each pull and removal/re-install for re-shimming every 2000 miles which would be a pain in the ass. Exedy has been working on a re-design for the past year which may fix their release bearing issues, and then that would be an option as they do make clutches that can hold the power. They said they’ll have that done in a week, but I was told by another race team they said that last year.
AMS uses an Exedy triple plate carbon and I’m not sure about Buschur. I think they may use one too. AMS’s race car and Shawna’s Evo have had the same retainer clip failure, but their clutch holds as they have a triple carbon setup. We’ll see what Exedy decides to do for us since we only got the clutch because they said it would be perfect for our usage.
Yes my friend Nick from who used to live with me in Rochester took those pics.
Better tires would definitely help, but only if the clutch could hold more load, so it’s a process and I’m sure they’ll get there.
I didnt know that Tilton was such a PITA. Also that really sucks about the Excedy, I mean for the amount of $$$$ for that clutch, you would expect better performance IMHO.
Jeller
You could always go with the quartermaster that the 1000hp Evo guy told you works great for him… :shrugs:
Wow that car is fast. Nice!
I am the first to admit that most people on here know more about cars than I do but,
if he is that serious about drag racing why doesn’t he take that f**king giant wing off and get smaller mirrors?
Awwww, WTF do I know?
hot car, hot picture, hot tuner…ummm yea.(in a not ghey sort of way)
