It hasn’t been stripped because it’s Shawna’s daily driver and she wants it to look nice as well. It’s full leather interior, sunroof, sound system with sub, etc. We drove it to and from the event 3.5 hours each way and it was nice and comfy with the a/c on.
Taking weight out would make it quicker/faster and take load off the clutch to help keep it from slipping so I’m sure a bit could be gained there. Until the clutch issues are really resolved I don’t see a point in making it more of a race car.
Video is up. You can hear him get out of it when it started to go sideways and then get back in it and continue smoking the front tires. The clutch seems to do fine while the tires are spinning and there isn’t as much load.
that is just incredible. evolutions continue to amaze me day after day - especially full-interior a/c cars that could run 10s, and can could probably still tear it up on a road course.
“phucking phenominal” comes to mind
here’s the slip, and i’ll post the dyno curve when i get it… so you can give mike even more props! it’s quite smooth.
yeah, this is the only car i have and i sold 3 eclipses for it. i’m not willing to completely give it up yet to a race car. let me have it another summer… or at least until my tsi runs…
Sweet! you guys put one awesome car together! Between the good clean install of the mods, nice looks, useable car, and hella fast in all the “performance” categories, this car just about has it all as it sits. I think when it’s turned into more of a “race car” it will actually loose a little bit of it’s appeal to me.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. The faster sheps car started getting, the lesser the boner intensity I got. Streetable, full leather running high 10’s (soon enough) is very impressive.
Exedy is taking care of the clutch issue. They mistakenly told us to get a clutch that’s only good for 550 whp (dynojet). Luckily the rep remembered doing it and is getting us into a triple ceremetallic (wasabi version). The wasabi version should cover whatever we do on the 35R.
I’d like to thank the folks at Exedy for doing the right thing and standing behind their product. That’s a rare thing in the performance industry.
DAMN this is an impressive project. i remember when shawna and emery’s white DSM blew up and the whole DSM community crindged, but it looks like things worked out for the better. this things MOVES. again looks like nothing but the best coming out of innovative. if i do end up back in NY thats where i’m taking all my stuff, and if not it still looks like it would be worth the road trip…applause
Yup their many DSMs of years past were definitely different from the Evo. When your plate is POSLASER you aren’t going for good looks, but it was a mid 11 second car years ago when that was shockingly fast for a street import.
Like many people they got older and decided they wanted a more complete package starting with a nice new car. The Evo is only a bit faster at this point, but the way this car is put together is night and day different. Emery and Shawna have built and maintained this car meticulously from front to back and I’m happy to be there to take care of the tuning side. It’s great having Emery here on staff so we can provide this total package to our customers as well.
