New CAI from Contemporary Motorsports

I just got off the phone with a dude from Contemporary Motorsports here in Calgary about ordering an AEM CAI. I had a couple questions … anyone know of any difficulties installing one of these bad boys in an '06 Altima? Seems pretty straightforward so I’m not too concerned.

Additionally, anyone know anything about the store? I haven’t been there, but the guy on the phone seemed pretty decent, and I’m probably going to go put a deposit tomorrow night for the next order. I want to make sure it’s not some place that’s got a bad rep.

CMS hooks people up!!!

The install is pretty easy, maybe an hour, less if you’re good with the tools. Did mine myself.

CMS is a good reputable store. They are big and have a good sized inventory. Good customer service too.

What about using the NISMO CAI ? Any warranty issues concerning the maf using a AEM CAI?

I’ve got an AEM short ram for my ka. . .easy install . . .looks good and feels good, no complaints whatsoever. I’ve heard good stuff about cms. . .

Doesn’t matter what aftermarket part I use … if it messes up the MAF, it’s not covered. But according to Smokebaby, AEM makes the Nismo CAI, so it’s the next best thing, and half the price.

When I checked with my dealership, he basically said any mod is fine for the warranty, as long as the mod doesn’t cause the problem. Pretty fair attitude I think.

PS - Ordered it on Friday - 2 weeks or so to come in. How can you go wrong ordering from a guy named Steele?

It’s not fair. It’s the law.

I guess what I meant was that it doesn’t sound like the dealership is going to go out of it’s way to try and associate any given warranty problem with some mod.
