isnt it about time for a new camero of trans am? has there been any news about a new f body? ford mustangs and chevy camero’s is a great rivalry i would like to see a renewed battle.

www.camaroz28.com has a 5th gen board with all sorts of rumors, just no one has any solid facts other than chevrolet will soon release a car similiar to the GTO, a RWD 2 door coupe and it has no name as of yet. Apparently GM cant use the name Camaro or Firebird on any car through 2005 or something due to a contract with the canadian workers that were suppose to build any such car through 05.

Same story going around camaros.net - a first gen site. Seems odd to me, but who knows. I’d think that there would be some real information if it’s supposed to be out in a year (in 06 as an 07 model) instead of a bunch of photo shop jobs on the internet . You’d think it would be at next years Detroit auto show. Most people want something “retro” like the new stang, but given Chevy’s recent “retro” styling I’m not so sure that’s a good thing. At least in my view. The SSr is ok looking but not worth the money and the HHR is horrible from what I’ve seen.
i think there is enough time for it be make an 07 model. i cant see them showing a rolling prototype at this past autoshow last month. they had the z06 and c6r amongst other cars. i would think itll be around in time for the next show in detroit. itll probably be the biggest new for the next show, but if theydve showd it last month it wouldve been overshadowed or had to share too much spotlight w/ the vette.
it should be unveiled in 2006 as a 2007.
Rumors state:
Camaro: 250hp 3.5L V6
Camaro SS: 320hp 5.3L V8
Camaro Z28: 400hp 6.0L V8
also the Monte Carlo will be switching to a RWD platform, with a base model V6, and a possible V8 option.
So will the Grand Prix.
a RWD grand prix gtp would be nice, but even better with an LS2 Supercharged
