Difference though is a sports car is still worth while to drive even when on the street and obv not being used quite as it was intended, a truck is not and the people who buy them are stupid.
Tundra’s available 381-horsepower i-Force 5.7L V8 is one of the most powerful engines available in a half-ton full-size pickup and is chosen by 72 percent of customers.
:roflpicard: whatever man, you can justify you’re statement anyway you want, you still come off as an idiot. If joe smoe wants to buy a truck he is compensating, but if he buys a sports car it’s ok because you deem it as worth while.
I wouldnt waste your time with this guy ont he subject of american cars. I have seen him bash GM/american cars in every thread know to man. Its a joke and what could have at one point been valid points I chalk up to bling hate toward any american car. Ive driven a v6 tundra and a v8 silverado. Comparing the two is a fucking joke IMO in favor of the silverado.
Oh, Oh. I have a sports car and a pick up truck. Since my penis enlargement did not work, this was the next best thing to do!
Back on topic, It seems foolish of GM to make fun of the tailgate step. They’re just pissed they didn’t do it first. I wish my Chevy had it. You can keep the heated steering wheel, but some may want it. Bottom line is that the whole “sissy” thing is not going to help sell your vehicle. Didn’t Howie do the XLR ads also?
But it looks like the V6 is the standard model in the 2WD version. I’d imagine only a unicorn would want a RWD pickup in Buffalo. The V6 is probably a hell of a lot more popular en le sud.
correct. just b/c toyota says its built, doesn’t mean you can get it here. Like 2WD FJ Cruisers, Yaris S models (before this year), and XRS matrix or corollas.
Different regions, receive different configurations. I’ve only seen used 2wd tundras here. Heck, you couldn’t even get yaris S’s in NY until 2009.
Standard 4.0 v6 has 236 hp, and even more torq, 15 mpg sux but its all i need in my tacoma, hell with a supercharger it makes more hp then a stock chevy truck all day long. The new chevy truck looks like toast is going to pop out of the grill anyway its fugly!
So what your saying is that… GM’s competitors, after 2 years of the NEW silverado/Sierra being produced are trying to one up it?
And you expect the 2010 Tundra to blow it away? hmm thats 3 years of R/D that GM doesn’t have to waste money on.
The silverado is a damn good truck. It’s got everything you need, and more. So what if ford and dodge are innovating some neat idea(the toolbox side bed is sweet, lets not fool ourselves) But all that stuff doesn’t matter as much as MPG (GM is pretty good, with the cyl deactivation) and long term durability.
If your buying a pickup truck for all the luxurious features it has(Which cost a shitload extra may I add) You could probably benefit more from buying an SUV. On top of all this, GM produces a low-cost,high featured product with all the offers in comparison to other companies… Especially Dodge.
Dunno about you guys, but my family buys trucks for work… Like they are intended to be used for.
Every GM we own has made it well beyond the mark of 175,000 miles with minimal maintenance.
Secondly, I don’t think GM needs to worry about wasting money on R&D. That seems to have all been spent on the Volt. LOL.
Toyota spends $24 million dollars a day on R&D. GM loses $24 million a day.
To assume that they new redesigned Tundra won’t smoke the Silverado, Dodge or Ford (Seeing as how the current generation tundra smokes em) even more, is just foolish.
if i was buying a new truck to use as a truck, plow, haul shit, probly buy a chevy, but the tundra will tow just as good but is more of a luxury truck to me for long trips 4x4 and a good ride.( More suv status) The chevy is more of an actual truck then a full time auto. Im not getting a new truck for my next daily anyway because my neck isn’t red.
If you disagree with me, go and ask anybody driving a Silverado, that if for free, would they swap their silverado with a tundra? 95% of people would say “yes”.
Now ask anyone driving a tundra, the same question, but try to put them into a f-150 or silverado… 95% would say “no”.
I was getting at its no wonders that Tundra is going to one up the Silverado.
It’s taking them 3 years and a lot of money to redesign the thing… And the silverado can probably beat or match it with a little change from the factory.
