noooooooooo KEV YOUR the man i love you, you’re awesome, good for you, great car. CONGRATULATIONS
Well it’s got good and bad, the first day I was really happy with the car. It was for sale for 1000 dollars, I went with a friend to check it out and talked him down to 650 dollars. It’s a 93 with about 280k on it, it had just gotten new brakes, struts, balljoints, tie rods and tires so the car seemed alright, other than a little bit of rust on the left qaurter. My safety was done at a Nissan dealer, and it passed emissions right away.
The worst thing about the car was the fact that it’s automatic and wasn’t shifting properly. It also needed a battery, and I quickly learned that it has it’s share of electrical gremlins. Killed an ecu
I changed the battery in it right away.
On monday I did the 5 speed swap and had to replace the starter since it went.
The electrical problem then decided to kill a 2nd ecu, burned up pin 36 (ignition switch) Today I got all of the wiring sorted out and put a new ecuin , only to find that the car isnt getting fuel and won’t start. I pulled off the fuel pump access panel to find the wires to the fuel pump are just destroyed and just decided to finally let go today, so I ordered the new harness and fuel pump cover on the fuel tank.
I’m beginning to regret buying this one as there was another one for sale down the street from me for the same price but with lower mileage. I didnt grab it because I’m not too fond of coupes. Now I’m thinking I could have gotten used to a coupe lol
1st coupes are great
2nd if anyone could make this car is you
With your tremendous knowledge of mechanics
3rd don’t regret it, it’s great and if it’s not great yet of will be ian sure
Seeee you already have it 5 speed but anyway keV keep me posted
Good luck, Ivan
thanks Ivan I fixed it back up, instead of just doing the sending unit I replaced the tank and sending unit/pump since my tank was leaking.
she runs again and the tranny shifts beautiful.
I also decided that since I didnt really like the grey leather and it’s my winter car now which means leather was freezing my balls off they should go. I slapped some GTR seats in her now much better than s13 leather in my opinion
Next things to do are ditch the hicas, do the full suspension with all of our AMS components, build my spare engine and do the turbo setup.
Bodywork and paint will come in the spring time
