New from Albany

No i wasn’t at the lot friday but I am planning on going this weekend if I have time.

welcome to the site… Post up some pics!!

welcome. Go with the cobb sway bars (my buddy put them on his ride and they were incredible), and turbo back exhaust. Then leave it alone until you have the cake to build it. Otherwise it WILL blow up.

welcome fellow subaru owner
no need for the accessport if you are just doing a catback exhaust (no downpipe)
you will need a tune for an aftermarket downpipe.
the accessport isnt horrible, but it isnt the best. the maps that come with it are soooooo conservative that you will get bored with them after a while. if you want a really fun car, do upgraded suspension (sway bars, ed-links, bushings) and some good tires. also a good mod would be a short throw shifter with bushings, it will make a HUGE difference in the way the shifter feels (by far the best mod ive done for my car)
:thumbup

theres no need for any of that shit

sorry bout the subaru

welcome good luck with the subaru

is this corey?

i blew one up . …

is this anthony?

why not?

yea, who is this lol?

Anthony

it is

And how many of those didn’t beat on the car or mod it?

+1.

Yea, the stock ringlands are junk. New Cosworth bottom end will be stout.

I’d stick with the suspension stuff. Makes the car so much more fun, and a lot less to worry about. For sway bars, go with Whiteline. I have them on both my Legacy and my GTR, and I wouldn’t recommend anything else. Get a good set of end links as well. Stick with stock shocks/struts, but change the springs out to something like Swift.

For engine stuff, Invidia turbo back, air filter, and reflash the stock ECU. Enjoy.

I see, well that was me(Joey L.) on my buddy’s name. Forgot he was logged in at his house lol.

Saw you driving earlier by the Latham Circle. Car looks good.

Yeah I thought I saw you driving around too and thanks man.

Welcome. Congrats on the purchase, they are fun cars if you take car of them.
You should be fine for awhile with a dp and a tune.
AP would be the best bet for short term reliability reasons due to the un-agressiveness of their tunes.
When you save up enough money for a real tune, sell the AP. Just make sure you’re tuner is actually looking at the logs and not just tuning for power. Tell them to tune it conservatively. If you walk out with more than 340whp from just a dp, your tuner didn’t listen to you.

As for suspension, start out with swaybars and endlinks like cossey said. Try to use a bigger bar in the front because these cars are prone to oversteer in some situations. Do not listen to anyone who says put a bigger bar in the back, they don’t know what they’re talking about.
These cars have good springrates and dampening from the factory. If you want to lower your car while increasing it’s handling performance, buy springs from Racecomp Engineering. Your stock inverted struts will be fine with the higher springrate.

With that being said, buy my parts.

yeah i think i remember you buzzing around the traffic circle when i was with k20, car looks good… take the advice from everybody and save up before it blows up lol

Why would you buy an STI to not mod it and not beat on it :crazy

My engine has 55k on it. The previous owner had a “Stage 2” tune on it which constitutes a turboback and cobb accessport tune. My car in stock configuration runs fine.

Your more than 30k rule mostly applies to stock tune 2007 sti’s
