New Guy from upstate!

Hey everyone. New guy here. I drive a 94 Honda del Sol, and live out in Queensbury (next to Lake George, Warren County), NY. Been into cars for years now, and Im on my 2nd Honda. I had a 2000 Civic LX sedan, and now onto my del Sol.

Short list of Mods:
Tokico Blue struts
Tein S tech springs
Blue billet aluminum rear lower control arms
front lower sway bar (some base models didnt come with them)
14" American Racing Rims with Honda center caps
Fugen replica steering wheel
Type R replica shift boot
DA Integra maplights
D16a6 camshaft

Here are a few pics of it, the day I brought it home:

And pics from putting an a6 cam in:

My workbench. Parts of a y7 bottom and y8 head scattered throughout.

My new project.

For those who cant read. lol

Getting ready to tear into 'er!

Valve cover off. Not too shabby for 220,000 miles!

Rockers off. Really good looking, considering milage!

No cam. Oil is alittle dark, but its coming up for an oil change anyways.

Rockers, b7 cam, and a6 cam (top to bottom):

All finished!

Next on the list is to get that z6 intake manifold on. After that, its on to replacing every single rusty nut and bolt under the hood. Then maybe a Ex/Si tranny…all while building that y7 block for booooost! Ive since replaced the yellow fog/aux lights with clear, OEM ones. The yellow wasnt flowing for me. Getting OEM cornerlights is on the list, too. Let me know what you guys think! Looking foward to my stay here!

Nice work man, welcome

welcome to the forum. Always glad to see another DIYer

Find member Since1983… he has a Del Sol he succesfully de-riced into a clean car. Welcome dawg

blues are equal to stock struts, I wouldnt exactly call it a mod. throw some illuminas on there

Welcome to the forum, nice car.

How much more power is that cam good for?

I think they’re slightly better but yeah, basically OEM replacements. Same thing with my GR2’s that I didn’t realize till after I bought them :frowning: They’ve been sitting in my garage for 2 years. I have 2 inch lowering springs but I don’t wanna buy new struts a few months later so my Neon still looks like a 4x4 (No, not the one in my sig). I might just save up for some coilovers.

Thanks!

Definately. I do ALL of my own work, unless something needs machine work. Thats when it gets sent to the shop.

Im not sure if your saying my car is rice…or…not? Either way, I’ll look him up and see whats up.

They were on the car when I got it, so I just left it on the ‘list’. Theyre just about blown, so its time for something new anyways.

Nothing crazy. It is an OEM cam, after all. It definately puts you back in your seat alittle more than the stock b7 cam. Its good for maybe 5 monkey power.

I’m thinking more of a compliment seeing as your del sol is pretty clean. Probably just wanted to show you another clean del sol that’s on the forum here and the transformation it went through. Here’s the one he was talking about:

Oh and welcome!

lemme guess, you are near or above 6’? I find it that the tall guys get small cars. my buddy used to have a mr2 and he is 6 something. lol

clean look sol for sure

welcome to the boards!

Yea, I was thinking that what he was implying. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks for looking out!

Yep. Im 6’2", 220lbs. Surprisingly, I have all kinds of room inside the Sol. Most people dont think I fit in it, and dont believe me when I tell them what I drive.

Thanks!

welcome

I have 182k miles on my STOCK OEM Gr2s. They havent blown out on an eibach prokit. Suck it up

OP: I have an ITR front swaybar and rear GSR Swaybar that u should buy  nice car

This.

What are you looking to get for them?

Welcome.

Nice project you got there…I really like that original color.

welcome

hi

Welcome. Only about an hour from my neck of the woods.

Its getting painted back to that color sometime this summer, hopefully. The ratard who owned it before me decided to ‘murder’ it out, hence the black paint, black rims, and black emblems. Not my style, so its getting Captiva Blue paint, along with either gold/bronze, or silver rims.

Thanks!

 Nice Evo. Thats actually my dream car…

Where abouts you at? I see your info says VT…?
