HDX4 was designed to deliver DVD (MPEG-2) quality at a remarkably lower bitrate resulting in a much smaller file size. E.g. a full-length movie in standard DVD (MPEG-2) format takes up approximately five gigabytes of space. The same movie, encoded with HDX4, needs just less than 700 megabytes - making it compact enough to fit on a standard CD-R(W).
HDX4 dramatically advances audio and video compression, enables the interoperable distribution of content and provides a scalable and unified framework for a wide variety of different devices, e.g. mobile phones, handhelds, PDAs, TV set-top boxes, DVD players, PCs and many more.
What is HDX4 today?
The HDX4 codec today is the most versatile MPEG-4 implementation available.
HDX4 features fastest video de- and encoding in comparison to all other competing solutions available on the market.
HDX4 supports all common resolutions: Starting with 32 x 32, up to 1920 x 1080 (HDTV) and even more.
HDX4 supports PAL, NTSC, Wide Screen, CIF, QCIF and all popular resolutions as well as custom user-defined picture dimensions
All widely used bit rates from 16 kb/s to 4 Mb/s, ranging from very small bitrates for 3GPP compatible devices to HDTV bit rates. Accept only the highest quality video storage.
HDX4 allows least-cost implementation of MPEG-4 de- and encoding in hardware.
HDX4 offers VfW and DirectShow support for Windows.
Solutions for Linux, Windows CE 5.0, Windows Mobile 2003, Irix, HP-UX & SunOS are also available on request…
