Well first I’ll introduce myself, my name is Dave (Dave Singh). I drive a Yamaha R1 (first bike, and oh boy i loved reading that first bike topic 
ahah). Actually I found these forums because was in Latham, NY a few nights ago and just heading home when this honda pulled up at the light… And i was like ok cool watsup etc etc. Let me tell you before that honda came I was at that fucking light for a good 5-6 minutes straight sitting there… thats becoming such a comon thing now with a bike … sitting at lights forever haha.
Ok so then the honda is there, light FINALLY goes green… then I stall yay haha. so then i catch up with the honda and im like ok maybe they wanna race because I hear some exhuast noise going on… Yea they wanted to race… damn I was in 4th gear cruising and they hit I really didnt even think twice I was sure to get them. Yea… right, I gotta say that honda was fast as hell for what I thought it was… We matched up againa few more times and raced some more this time I just stayed in 1st and 2nd gear. So basically after all that and pulling over the dude driving was Jay and told me to come here check the site out.
Thats pretty much my story on how I got here, I dont drive the bike very hard because I got some nasty nasty tire wear going on, belts are starting to come apart and I really dont have ANY traction with that thing its pretty scary, I dont know if you dudes drove an R1 lately but they are pretty scary, so running them on belts is not necessary to get an adrenaline rush. I’m buying a new tire this weekend, probally a pilot, so i’ll be much more willing to push a bike a bit more after that.
I got like no direction in my talk so just be warned if you havent figured that out already. So yea the R1 is my first bike i’ve had it for about a month now, its a totally stupid bike and I dont want anyone to look at me and use me as an example to say “Hey his first bike was an R1 , so why cant I start out with one” Nah thats pretty stupid and most likely your gonna hurt your self really bad. I dont mess around much myself and I dont do stupid things, but it doesnt matter because when your on a bike like that its not really you making choices anymore its more like the bike so if you have any lack of self control you better watch yourself when shopping for a bike because it will be too late to be sorry. Thats just my advice because I hate hearing my friends say “oh yea i wanna get cbr1000 this summer, and gsxr1000” and I cant even tell them they are retarded.

hey, as crazy as it sounds I would rather print your first bike post out and hand it out to everyone telling me they want to buy a 1000cc or even 600cc . I couldnt agree with you more. 95% of people are not fit to start with 1000’s who never even owned/rode a bike before… im just that 5% you dont see very often.
