One theory is that hydrogen will be safer than gas if punctured.
Gas leak = puddle on ground, then ignites
Hydrogen leak = lighter than air, floats away
I’m sure this can be counter pointed to death. (instantaneous spark, pressure vessel, omg nazi airship)
