Bought this yesterday for my girlfriend.

Could you be any more vague? How about some details as to what the plans are!
It’s a 1972 volvo p1800.
As you can see from the pics, it’s currently pretty much a blank slate…
I personally have no plans for it beyond helping the girlfriend make it into whatever she wants it to be.
I expect it’ll end up with either a turbo I5 from a newer Volvo or maybe a Rover V8. Will have to wait for it to get here to start figuring out what we want to make fit.
Certainly open to suggestions for reasonable engines to swap in.

Nice car Stan! I see you are putting all that garage space to good use.
X…
Thanks!
I’m actually more excited about this thing than I am about the project Miata.
Ideas for how it might look when done:

Such a sexy Swede
ILI
How hard is it to locate parts?
that is a very sex car. You def. don’t see those everyday.
That is a beautiful car.
Thanks, that one really caught my eye.
The P1800 was the original Saint’s car. Awesome choice.
I was actually pretty surprised when I started looking into it- there’s a decent-sized community of people who are into these things, and a reasonable aftermarket supply of restoration parts.

And then there’s always ebay and craigslist for the obscure and hard to find parts.
I’ve been a fan of those for a while. A friend used to have one around here but sold it 4 years ago.
Parts are pretty easy to find, and the cars aren’t that expensive.
Plus your looks in pretty decent shape to start.
honestly I can’t stop staring at the car. I can’t believe I have never seen it before.
i dunno… miata > *
Same here. I like it almost as much as old Cobras, but the hardtop is a nice added feature.
Might have to pick one of these up when I have more disposable income.
Parts car acquired…
Can anyone recommend a good flatbed service to haul this thing 61 miles?

They sure are pretty. Fairly rare too if I recall?
Thanks. ![]()
Only 4000 of this model made, I believe.
Some expenses have eaten what we’d budgeted for this project.
