New-Used Alternator (several pictures)

So I got an alternator in the mail to replace my burnt out piece of crap.

I was absolutely delighted when I got home and there were two lovely brown boxes waiting for me. I opened them up and delighted when I pulled out OEM pieces to replace my Alternator cooling ducts and various other Items

(pardon the mess)

And then I opened my Alternator. I then knew that I would soon be rollin in my sweet ride once again. This after a month away from it.

I was ecstatic about putting a new piece of amazing machinery in my car.

But alas. There was a problem… now maybe I am being over dramatic about this (its mostly for show).

I did not at first notice it. Not until I picked up the box that I thought was empty. I was to use it to get my core charge back. But I heard a rattle and I looked in the box. It took me a moment and then it hit me. I looked again and it struck me in the face hard…

Now the question is. Should I be treating this as dramatically as I am?

Should I indeed return it?

Or screw it and drop the thing in and get back to the drivers car that I love to be behind the wheel of?

Now I am going as far as to replace all the screws that I have used on all those plastic pieces that I took out with new ones. Cause if something goes wrong. I want to be sure it wasn’t cause of an over site of mine.

Stuff like that would piss me off too. If its in a spot you won’t really notice then fuck it. Otherwise make them overnight you a new one and get pissed.

I’d almost have to say get it replaced. What’s not to say it fails a short while later. You send it in for warranty work, and then they void it because they think you damaged it. By dropping it or something stupid.

you’ll be glad you returned it for a new one

My concern would be how hard did the delivery guy punt it to break that vane off.

meh, u could always swap covers if you wanted to… the internals are fine… those vanes break off all the time if they are knocked the right way

where dit eh little piece go that missing? is it stuck in there? cause when the shit runs it isnt gonna do any good to ya

Naw it was in the box.

Yeah I think I’m gonna e-mail them with pictures and see what they can do for me. I’m way too Picky about details to live with this.

Just got off with support and they are overnighting me one and E-mailing me a return shipping label. So I don’t even have to pay for return shipping.

Two thumbs up for www.bimmerspecialist.com

Not to mention their shipping prices are CHEEP. It was $8 to two day everything pictured above. It only would have been $14 to overnight it.

quit being a bitch. install it and drive your car.
