Got a good deal on a 2013 as the 2014’s started to roll in.
Plans for the 2014 are probably a teraflex performance leveling kit and some 33’s. Probably drive through fall close to stock, granted I have been tinkering since I got it.
15 minutes after I signed the papers I took it off-roading. I felt bad that the detail guy spent all that time getting it clean. Hopefully hitting the lake michigan sand dunes later this fall and get some better pictures.
Yep that won’t happen. Already started debadging, not adding any “Jeep thing” type stickers
My first vehicle was an SUV and I really enjoyed the go anywhere mentality. Granted I don’t camp and like hot showers so I probably won’t fit in well with this crowd. Probably not too many Caddy and Jeep owners.
Here is what it will probably look like by next spring (different wheels but you get the idea)
I have driven a handful of 90’s jeeps with minimal serious off roading. My jk had a tough time on a steep incline in 4H but after taking in in 4L it was not much of an issue. I have a feeling tires were also to blame, at least that is what I will tell myself when the bill comes for the new setup.
I did a quick search on the differences.
Granted the guys on those forums seem to think anything new is wrong sort of like air cooled porsche guys.
Approach/departure angles are the same on the 2-dr and the 4-dr. The break over angle and turning radius are slightly worse. Probably some additional weight as well.
I have not driven a JK 2 door so I can’t compare the two, but the TJ’s I have driven were much more nimble.
