Newbies with Liter bikes.

And your saying comfort on a bike doesn’t matter, this can go both ways. There is NO right answer to this. That is what I am trying to say!

If you’re picking a more expensive bike to purchase, insure, register and fix, that you will ride purposely slower, as well as having a slower learning curve and having “slower” bikes ahead of you while riding, without any damn good reason I’d say that stupidity goes directlywith a choice of the bike.

I forgot to reference my bike CC to height chart, I must have lost the file, you still have yours? Upload it please so I don’t make the same mistake.

European Union tends to disagree forcing people to start on smaller bikes and move up through licensing.

I didn’t say that comfort doesn’t matter, in fact I never mentioned comfort.
If you wanted comfort the last bike you’d be getting is a super-sport.
A taller guy I know who started recently is picking between harleys, dual-sports and standards right now.

Each bike rides different the way its set-up, that you can tell by sitting on it. Like I said nobody has a right answer to this its personal preference.

Oh and FYI this isn’t Europe.

Totally disagree, I have been on my dads Harley and I feel 10X more comfortable on a sport bike then a Harley. I like the leaning forward feeling a lot more then sitting just upright…once again personal preference.

To be fair I have no idea what kind of Harley your dad rides.
It’s rather common opinion that a standard bike is far more comfortable than a sport because you don’t have to strain your back leaning forward on it.
Besides, if we are talking about height than you would want something with a tall seat or lots of leg-room, super-sports have neither.

Lets see

Starting on a small bike is nearly unanimously recommended by experienced mature riders, MSF instructors, and Track instructors.

Starting on a small bike is supported by magazine articles and writers.

Starting on a small bike is supported by logical arguments to it financially beneficial and good for your experience.

Starting on a small bike is supported by the government elsewhere in the world.

Starting on a big bike is supported by people who don’t ride but want to get into the sport

By people who want to feel comfy on a bike

By people who say they don’t want to deal with an upgrade later, even though there would be no need to upgrade if they never reach the potential of the smaller bike to begin with such as a 600.

Yep, no right answer to this.

your really making a huge deal about this did someone piss in your cornflakes today relax bud people will buy whatever makes them happy its the benefit of living in this country

Remember Vlad is communist he doesn’t believe in people being able to do what they want!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH rawr.

LOUD NOISES

ohhhh ok now i totally understand i must be 1/2 retarted?

Thought about making a serious post, but that post seemed more relevant.

I liked that post better anyway, Vlad is being serious enough for everyone in the US and Russia.

This is fucking stupid…It is a fact that people are less likely to crash learning on a smaller bike. It is just plain easier, there easier to learn fundamentals on. I remember when i first got mine i thought it was really big and heavy. Now I ride it and realize how fucking small the 500 is and how much harder a time i would have had on larger bike.

Im not saying your just an idiot if u buy a bike thats too big for your own good but who gives a shit. It is more about throttle control than anything. If your gonna truly not experiment with the bikes power and your really not gonna give it a lot of gas until you hit a magical line where all of sudden your experienced then by all means, get a fucking big bike. BUT if the power isn’t there, you cant make the same dumb mistakes you might when your less experienced if your bike is small. I know this from personal experience. I’m a young rider who hopped on bike when i had ZERO experience on 2 wheels. Starting on a old 500 was a great choice and id recommend it to anyone.
