Hey Guys, I’m a senior at SUNY Albany, I drive a first year 1990 LS 400 that my father drove off the lot. I put second gen rims on, and xenon bulbs, The LS also has the air suspension option.

Welcome to the forum!

sickkkkkk. these and the 2000-2004 or so GS300’s are two of my favorite big body imports. have any plans for it?

Well, its got almost 240K miles on it, and soon either the tranny or starter is gonna give out. When that happens sadly, I am not 100% sure what I will do. I wanted to get a new Mines ECU… but I cant find them anywhere, nor is it anywhere near new. The only other thing I thought might be ok at this point was to modfiy and dremel out part of the intake, so it sounds a bit more throaty, but I am still on the fence about it, as its the opposite of what the quietness is like.

Welcome.

You will be strongly persuaded by a few members of the forum to go in this direction with the car.

That looks nice, but I don’t like the super mod look on my car. I enjoy having the few touches that show its not completely stock.

Understood, it’s just that the VIP/Wanna-be-VIP craze took off recently on this side of the pond, and we got a few fans on here. That and your car would fit in just right.

What are your plans? Planning on keeping it? Getting something else?

Hey did me and my buddy jump start you at Target last year? In a tan/silver Sentra. :lol Saw you said it needs a starter…

Vovchandr - I want to keep it till it dies and “stuff it and mount it” till im like 50 and try to restore it when it becomes “classic”

I actually want to try to get a Lotus Elise R. Maybe a used 06 or so.

Redevil - Nah that wasnt me, My dad actually does starters and alternators in Newburgh NY, so its more of a is it worth the time to replace the starter when it goes. The starter in my car is under the V so its a big job to get at it =(

Looks clean! Its worth it! If you enter a car show you need a sign that says 240K on it.

VIP that ish.

Throw some sick 20" wheels on it, get those air controllers they have for those, dump it to the max.

then add a couple snails to that V8.

DO IT.

Welcome.

HAHA, I dont know if the grandpa engine of mine could handle turbos for long. I wanted to wait until 2010 to even take the car to any type of show because of the fact that it is now 20 years old. haha woot!

Car looks nice man! +1 for VIP status wheels and drop :lol

Great car, my aunt out in Boston had one back in the day and she let me drive it a few times…

So smooth and quiet- plus it’s cool knowing this is the sedan that caused the German manufacturers to really rethink that bottom line…

Welcome to the site.

actually that is one hell of a motor in that car IIRC.

very potent.

yea, its been good to me, but since it is getting old, i dont wanna shorten its life span any more. gotta drive it till i save up for an elise heh.
