So I got a great deal on a Nikon d40x and need some advice on a good over lens as far as what fits on my camera
What do you shoot the most or what will you be shooting?
Cars bikes right now maybe landscapes and buildings
50mm 1.8 you know you wanna
What lens came with it, 18-55?
If it came with the 18-55 or 18-105 just use that for the time being, they are both actually quite sharp lenses just not all that fast.
As far a better fast lens, the 35 1.8 is probably the best/cheapest lens you can get thats sharp and has great low light performance, I use my 35 1.8 for just about everything when I just want to shoot and not dick with my lenses
I will be unloading my DX lenses in the next month or two when I get ready to buy the D600
