id still rather have the GT3
im with ya. VAG FTW :nod
maybe im wrong but i would think that the m3 would be in that class as the skyline or gt3, fast but maybe an unfare comparison
as much as a love bimmers i would def. rather drive the R35 skyline out of the 3
GT3 for me.
The M3 is in that class. I get the feeling the car wasnt set up properly as no one else is complaining of oversteer. The other magazine comparos are having lap times much closer.
seriously .30 wasnt enough of a difference for me to take a nissan over the porshe, the m3 however in comparison wasnt good but i really dont think it should be in the same class as those two f.i cars
GT3 isn’t FI
really i could have sword he said somthing about turbo, maybe he was referring to the 911 turbo he said he tested the week before
:wtf
gt/r35 are turbo, m3 is not. However did he say the R35 is twin turbo?? That car is sick regardless, id take any of three!
This is the thing that kills me…why did they use the GT3? Its an n/s engine car and not the faster Porsche made right now. The GT2 is the fastest Porsche right now and is turbo’ed. :wtf
I watched the video yesterday and was confused myself. But the GT3 has never been a turbo car, its the air-cooled 911 lovers modern 911.
GT2’s start at 191k, which is probably twice what the GT-R is going to cost, I still think the turbo would have made for a better comparison, more similar, turbo 6 cylinder with advanced AWD system. I would have rather seen where the current Z06 fits in then the M3.
Yeah thats makes sense…I didn’t think about the starting price of the GT2. :headbang
You guys are talking like you cant compare turbo cars and NA cars. If we’re talking power, who cares how its made; hp is hp.
:+1 track time is track time, FI cars can be just as compeditive if built right.
Its more then about just HP, I don’t care how they get around the track, they can use a Delorean with a flux-capacitor if it gets the job done. I just think the M3 was a poor choice for the comparison, I would have much rather seen a Z06 in the mix to see how it compared with the latest and greatest in the in and around $100k range.
I think the 911 turbo would have been a more real comparison because both it and GT-R have fantastic AWD systems, the reason I feel the GT3 was a poor choice in comparison has nothing to do with it having a turbo, but the fact that it is RWD, on a track like the one they were on AWD would probably be a bit quicker.
As the saying goes, Porsche, there is no substitute.
Agreed, but those magazine comparisons are almost always hinged upon a certain price range which probably excluded the 911 Turbo. Would’ve been interesting to see what the Z06 did.
My “hp is hp” comment was related to the people saying that its unfair to compare turbo and NA cars because when you throw a turbocharger into the mix, magical speed unicorns appear and all turbo cars > all NA cars.
