I am in the market for a new compressor, anyone have +/- feedback on differing makes/models/designs/warranty …Plastic pistons…cast iron designs and so on.
I am looking for an upright, portability is not required. Its has to be good enough to run clean PSI sustained for a Automotive painting and enough jam to sandblast with.
Thanks I checked that one out online, the tank is too small. They don’t have specs listed on the CFM-PSI rating. From what I am reading I find that a rating of 6CFM @ 100 PSI is a baseline for sandblasting, some say 90PSI but I think it all depends on what material is being used and what you are blasting. I had the problem of capacity with my current compressor (R.I.P), not enough tank, not to mention that it was older than me!. You could run the impact gun but after 2 lugs you would have to let it run to get back up to pressure.
In the portable market you pay more for less and that is the only gain - portability.
The 80 Gallon Delta on the other hand is more in my range, however the price is a bit out of my range.
Can anyone list off the top 2-3 Brand names that have been around for years?
Campbell Hausfeld and Ingersoll Rand are the two majors that I’m aware of. There may be better ones in an industrial application. Did you check out Gregg’s or Princess Auto yet?
Nope, they’re in Edmonton here. I’m not sure if you have to have an industrial account to shop there or not. Their catalog is here: http://208.38.62.143/cgi-bin/greggframeworkcat.html
Unfortunately they don’t list prices in their catalog.
And they’re located at:
