I’ve been very unhappy with the flash on my old point and shoot when doing close up portrait shots. So tonight I decided to experiment and found that two sheets of toilet paper over the flash made a huge difference.
Shot 1, as Olympus designed it.
Shot 2, post toilet paper mod.
Much better huh?
Be real glad when I order my new camera and don’t have to do crap like this anymore.

Plus, on most SLRs you can control the level of the flash, so you wont need toilet paper!
