Noob Question

Don’t flame on me too bad. 205/55/16 What do they mean??? And what would a good wheel setup be for a 240???

205-width
55-thread size… ??
16-rim size

and if you would like to find good size of rims/offsets you may look at How too’s and FAQ in this forum.

Hey man.

The 55 is the height of the tire from the rim.

Easy 8)

^^^ what he said. i couldnt’ describe it.

first number, tread size in MM, second number, aspect raito of the tire in % of the tread size. so 55% of 205mm = side wall height…lower the % lower the sidewall height.

16 referes to rim size.

anyone can explain this more clearly if they like

205/55/16 is what they said…

205 is the WIDTH of the tread in millimetres
55 is the height of the sidewall of the tire expressed as a percentage of treadwidth (ie sidewall height is 55% of 205mm)
16 is the rim size.

Don’t ask why there are different measurement units (mm and inches) used at the same time… i never figured out why it’s like that
