very true… west view used to be a great place to live… bring in the not so good folk and watch property values decrease. thats why my family got out!
it’s quite amazing how fast this cycle happens.
can’t argue with that… century iii went to shit in about 3-4 years.
it’s going to happen up there…
no it won’t.
five words:
the busses don’t run here.
there is a bus stop every five feet on mcknight road.
compare our bussing system to the south hills’s.
busses stop on mcknight road, and with the exception of the 1D/1F, pretty much nowhere else…
mass transit runs rampant all over the south hills. i lived in brookline for a year as a kid. i remember how easy it was to get anywhere in the south hills quickly without a car… and how there was 90 minutes between busses at the Millvale Loop in the North Hills.
I went to North Allegheny, so I know what everyone is talking about. I’ve known plenty of people who didn’t have a huge income that either lived in a giant house with shitty cars, or drove amazing cars but lived in small houses. They HAD to have some sort of status symbol. It used to annoy me a lot, but I learned to ignore the uppity yuppies. I was the rarity in NA. I had a job and paid for my own car. As far as the area itself goes…ehh. It’s nice and all, but the traffic can get a bit ridiculous. Not to mention the soccer moms in their Escalades doing 65 weaving in and out of traffic. I’m moving out soon, and def. plan on getting out of the North Hills, mainly due to cost and change of pace and scenery.
see in north hills, soccer moms drive vans…
whereas in Shaler, soccer moms LOOK like vans… so they NEED those Suburbans/Excursions
True…I was more speaking of the Wexford area.

property values are still reasonable, it’s got lower taxes, nhills type areas with no north hills area attitudes, no ghetto, and now that 22 is finished the comute to pittsburgh isn’t bad. when i build my next home it will be on a couple acres in northhuntingdon or murrysville or something like that.
exactly
fuck trying to drive up 279n m-f from 3-6 … also, it takes like 25 minutes to get down mcknight during the most random hours, then sometimes you can get down in 5… same with southbound in the morning… south hills traffic isn’t nearly as bad… and sq hill tunnel sucks, and is expected to be slowed down, but the traffic moves.
fuck 3 lanes in each direction when 20% of people can actually drive.
:boink nhills r too high taxes…tryin to find a place in cranberry alot cheaper taxes

talk about blowin up property values, cranberry-warrendale is knuts!
Yah Cranberry is going to be insane in no time…especially with the build up of 228. I hear they are supposed to make all of that like another waterfront…
like i said… mcknight will go to hell when the new yuppie craze is cranberry.
note to self - buy houses in cranberry and sell to yuppies to make a boatload of cash for doing nothing.
crammedberry has been like that for 15 years now :stick:
not like it is now… but yeah you’re right, it’s been creepin up like that for a long time now, lately though (last couple years) it’s been skyrocketing.
