I always have traction issues at nyi.
Sadly I was to busy prepping the jeep/trailer and running errands to come. Hope everything turned out well Jay. I suspect it did as you didnt call me yelling about an exploding differential.
good times, finished 2nd in the brackets but lost the finals to a neon that ran an 18.1… lame lol
i’ve come to the conclusion that for this car to be a 1/4 mile car it needs to a) rev higher so i don’t have to go into 4th and b ) way more traction so i can launch harder
i had like no boost past the 60’ mark THEN it would finally kick in and i’d go haha still had a great time tho, best was an 11.9 @ 122, its got alot more left in it def happy with getting into the 11’s on street tires / pump gas
not bad not bad. howd the EvO doooo…or is he gona be SnKy. COMON I SHARED ME TIMES
um if i am not mistaken i thought i saw a blue evo with no wing and silver rims leave on a flatbed, idk if emery changed the looks of his car.
Yup he finally decided to pull some crap out and make the most of the one pass he would get before getting kicked out. He took the wing off, back seat, and passenger seat. He ran the 1/8th twice to get a couple practice launches in on the new clutch and so we could check the tune out. Then he went for a full pass and the clutch broke again and locked engaged so the 11.1 at 131 mph on the old slipping clutch from the last shootout is still the best time in that car. Needless to say we’re all really frustrated with this clutch situation.
Joe’s STi just about finished off his clutch, but in his case it’s just slipping a lot and he was able to drive home. I was hoping it would hold for at least one pass, but I can’t say I’m surprised after it slipped in 4th-6th gear during tuning.
Ramone’s STi ran 12.3 at 113 all night on his low boost pump gas only tune so I was happy with that considering he just needs to get used to driving it to get more MPH out of it. Everyone laughs when you hear these guys go down the track because right after the 1/8th they go into 5th and almost use it all.
I think Jay did well in the RX7 for not revving it out. Next time with a 112 tune and revving to 8700 or so I’m thinking low 11’s at 13X on his street tires.
I finally got to meet OCD. Very nice fellow. I’m sure we’ll see you at the track again.

damn. That is some serious power if he broke the new clutch. Holy effin shit man.
The power and RPM don’t help but that’s not the whole story. It’s more related to going through the gears quickly. The clutch held okay but the retainer clip seperated again.
ahh. I see.
sucks for emery, does tilton make a clutch for evos, I know there expensive but you probably wouldnt have to change it once a month.
Nice time Jay!
Jay, what are you reving too?
8, i think with this turbo tho i need to go to 9 lol
yes
Geez, the motor takes reving that high too? I’m jealous. I’m reving up to 7200, and only hitting 6800 at the moment!!

should have upped it for that last run
Last night was fun, best I could muster was a 12.8@116 off the nitrous. I did one nitrous run but I had a really bad launch, and spun a lot in third. Only spraying in 3rd and 4th. Ended up running a 13.0@118 haha. I’ve come to realize that this car, in its current setup, is just not made for the track. I’ve got some decisions to make this winter on what I’m going to do with it.
Prepare for racing me next season :wiggle:
Next year should be interesting. If I decide to keep the car with the intent of drag racing, you’ll have your hands full.
I think my clutch is crapping out faster then I thought, It was slipping pretty easily on the way home. Hopefully next time I go with a new clutch I can get into the 11s.
