Nyspeed metal-workers

I bought a custom badge for my car but its only about 1/8" thick, im looking to get an oval piece of (brushed aluminum or polished chrome) made for this badge to sit in and give it around 1/4" of additional thickness, closer to the OEM badge thickness.

anyone know how complicated something like this would be to make? or if it’s going to be too expensive to make it worth it?

just get a 1/4" alum sheet and trace your badge on it… then break out the jigsaw and then do a final grind to massage the shape till its perfect…

i need a solid block of metal for the badge to sit in, its flexible so just gluing an alluminum surround onto it it will probably flex in the center.

mspainting what i need, one sec

ideally i’d like to also get a clear plastic cap for the top too that would be attached to the aluminum, completely encasing the badge.

But i think that would probably cost way more than i’d want to spend on it.

so why won’t viper’s idea work?

re-read his post, that should work. i’ll just have to find someone’s jigsaw to borrow.

i skimmed through it too quick and misread what he wrote.
