You have a Droid and you want a mobile version? I thought the site worked great on the Droid when I tried it. BlackBerrys and iPhones (not iPhone 4) definitely have a problem viewing the site because their resolutions are super low. But on a Droid you should be fine with the full site IMO.
yea… i just picked up a droid phone and its great.
not saying i am having a problem viewing it i just mean if i want to check on something real quick like PM’s or something it is a lot faster than having to wait for all images ie. avatars, signatures, banners to load where as that tapatalk program is strictly text
My resolution is excellent on the iPhone 4, I just feel a mobile version is easier to navigate over zooming in and out and whatnot.
I really hate almost all mobile versions. They usually look poorly thrown together, eliminate most features, and entirely change the layout making it a new site to learn how to use. Some sites even wont allow you to use the full version, and keep forcing you to the crippled mobile version based on your browser information.
Its absolutely terrible when there is some things I simply cannot do on my phone, due to the simple fact that someone thought a mobile version was superior. I understand it does suck on some phones to view a full version, but it should ask me to go there, or at the very least have EVERY option available somewhere…
I dont see it being a major priority to make a mobile version. There likely wont be much time put into it, it wont be used much, and probably is going to suck to use on most of the newer high-res smart phones that are quite capable of handling the full site.
not everyone one has a new hi-res smart phone though. and the last time they made a mobile “version” of the site it was just another skin that you chose to use when on your mobile browser that got rid of a lot of the images but still had almost all of the function of the normal site.
Honestly, if you want to check out a super well put together mobile forum, go to www.dubsinthebuff.com on your phone. It’s so easy to browse, aside from the fact it is lacking in some places (no edit, no sig when posting, switching to reg forum mode doesn’t work) it works very well via mobile.

That’s exactly how I feel we should base our forums on.
It’s soo easy to use and soo crisp and functional.
i have a droid… it kind of sucks because of the banner and its touchscreen and everything is so close together
and everytime i log in, it logs me back out, and never remembers that i saved my pw.
maybe its my phone not the site tho
