You can’t generalize about climate in the biggest country in the world. That’s like a foreigner saying that all America is extremely cold, because he refers to Alaska.
The city usually featured in movies (Moscow) has the same average yearly temperature as New York City. Cold winters, warm summers. The only major difference, is NY usually gets slammed with major snowfalls a few times a winter, while in Russia it’s more so a small constant snowfall in winter times.
But generally speaking, Moscow = Lower NY in temperature terms.
