OFFICIAL Carlisle 2006

Again you are forgetting what the main function of the show is; its a car show with judging. Other than Skribble, they have that stuff at the other shows. You want a HIN type show you go to a HIN type show, you want a carlisle show you go there, you want Nopi you go there.

Bitching about judged events maybe pointless to you, but when people are paying $50+ dollars to compete they expect certian things. Got forbid you take your new race car and somthing isn’t done right, don’t ever bitch about it. You just better be happier than a pig in shit that they took your money and fucked up your event…

Then before you start complaining about the quality of cars, not everyone is ready for HIN or IACS shows right off the bat. ALL carlisle shows offer a beginner a place to enjoy themselves and get a taste for the hobby they are interested in.

Everyone starts somewhere at whatever they are doing. Weather it be racing, showing, building websites, etc…

Too many of you forget where you got your first break and are too quik to jump on a bandwagon (no thats not a dig at your 240).

lol true. I saw some crazy stuff go down the last year at carlisle. There was some dude that rode his street bike up into the hotel, did a burnout and left. Then there was some young dude getting chased by a local cop on foot with a case of beer on his shoulder.lol. Hopefully people wont ruin it for the people who are there to have a good time. I’m happy though to see the show back at carlisle and sight and sound your right. Sitting there forever trying to get into the show was no fun either. For some reason i just like carlisle.

If your speaking of the ford show? I’ve gone to it before and imo i thought it was very nice and well planned out.

PSU facilities blow the crap at Carlisle out the water. It was the first year at PSU so yes there are going to be some bugs in the layout and planning, too bad they are just gonna screw it all up again by taking it back to Carlisle for it to just get tossed again. As for long waits, not sure what Carlisle Sport Compact show you’ve been to, I’ve waited in crazy ass long lines at that place, longer wait than I had at PSU. (But then again those lines were at the first 4 or 5 years they had the show there at Carlisle)

I’m not talking about lines getting in and out of the fiargrouns.

I’m talking about the return lanes getting back to your spot after being judged. The judging lines I have seen at shows like the Truck Nationals this year, yeah you wait to be judged but they have officals directing vehicles and keeping the main lanes of traffic open and stopping people in the aisles before the block an intersection so once your through you can go back to your spot within minutes.

There was no way to do that at PSU. They are used to filtering people into spot then at the end of the game filtering them back out. Not dealing with a constant motion. Also people din;t want to park on backtop again due to the sun and heat kicking up so that limited the grass areas in parking.

i like psu show better bc psi gave u shit to do at night.

you guys crack me up, the issue isn’t what there is to do afterwards. Its what to do with the idiots afterwards. EVERY SINGLE away game for this show has had problems with assholes. Harrisburg was no better than it being in Carlisle, Drag racing down the main drag, the Wrx and others burning out in the lot, the hotels getting fucked up, all because the burnout competition sucked??? Please give me a break.

Then PSU they had it contained to the One hotel with all the assholes and cops ins riot gear.

How long do you think PSU was going to put up with that? You need hotels to accomidate people and if one by one they all say fuck you we arn’t allowing it, then the show gos on the road again.

For the most part a majority of the people that attend this show know how to have a good time WITHOUT causing problems. Its the dipshits usually underagers that need the beat down and their “buddies” they bring along.

I like Carlisle more than PSU. If only we could tow in a portable Mad Mex we’d be MONEY!!!

man, there is a bomb ass mexican joint in carlise. go past the bowling alley, and keep going straight. it is on the right side.

i ate there 3 times in a 24 hr span last yr they had the car show. puts mad mex to shame, and is run by real mexicans. psu tyler, goofy jeff, myself, and a few others ate at it. bomb food. thats the only thing i miss about carlise is that resturant.

i liked psu better the traffic in carlile was crazy way to small for a show that big

but do they have the bomb ass margaritas that 3 make you go blind?

4 is tha magic number this year :owned:

would this show be the one to go to if you have an import?? my g/f wants to go to the import one, and not sure which one it is. i guess it would be this one??

Import kit cars? Or import sport compacts? The kit car one is two weeks after.

This is the compact car show…

thank you, i want the compact one.

This is an email and response by one of the guys in charge of the shows at carlisle…
I thought his response seems like they have a positive idea about the show…

Hi,
Carlisle Performance & Style is not the same show that was here in 2003. P&S is a new show, with a new format. Just like weather patterns, automotive trends come from the west and head to the east…what we are see and what SEMA is reporting is the decline in the sport compact industry. As the “kids” grow up, graduate college, get real jobs and have more money they are buying better cars like the 300C, Charger, IS300, etc. So what we are doing is having a show that will give those vehicles a home. Yes, there will be a large portion of sport compact vehicles at the show, we know that. But in the next couple years when this decline heads east we will be ahead of the curve with an established show.
Another thing that validates what we are doing is what Vision Entertainment did December 3 in LA. Vision is the producer of the HIN series, they held a show called VIP Auto Fashions. This was the west coast version of what we are doing. HIN see’s the need to develop a new line of shows because their compact shows are falling off.
We did meet with the local law & government about the show and they are welcoming the show back to the city because of the money a show brings to the town. We did address that violations will ruin a show, and we cannot say they will ease up, but they have agreed that there could be a negative effect on the show and they don’t want that. They want what we want, a good show with no problems inside or outside the fairgrounds.
I hope this helps you know a bit more about the show.

Take care and see you in May,

Hi Rich,

First, I'd like to start out and tell you that I have attended every Custom Compact Show that has ever been held at the fairgrounds and a few of the other shows including my other favorite show, the All Truck Nationals. My car has been on the showfield numerous times. However, since the import show was banned I did not attend the shows at Harrisburg or State College. Can you tell me how this show is really any different than the Custom Compact show?? It sounds like to me that the "bigshots" that run things at Carlisle finally came to their senses and realized how much money the city was losing from the import crowd but they decided to "disguise" things by changing the name of the show and listing a few different things like SUV's and luxury cars to make the show sound more "adult".

To me that is pretty funny because luxury cars, SUV's, lowriders and bikes were already starting to attend the compact show........nothing new there. By the way, I'm not one of those IDIOTS that caused all the problems in town at the import show. A large group of my friends from all different states and I would meet up and attend every year as a tradition.

All I can say is if this is basically the same show PLEASE PLEASE tell me that there has been a meeting or something with the local and state cops to get their asses straight. I can see if someone is doing something to deserve a ticket but the tickets for stupid shit like window tint, aftermarket taillights & headlights, neon and the countless other modifications is RIDICULOUS!!! IT IS A CUSTOM CAR SHOW NO MATTER WHAT SHOW IS BEING HELD THAT WEEKEND. THATS WHY PEOPLE ENTER AND ATTEND THESE SHOWS!! It's a shame how much money everyone spends over a 3-day time period in Carlisle, yet, the cops are total jackasses and fine and harass A LOT of people who were invited to attend these shows. Its an import car show......what do they expect to be on these cars?!?! Just like the truck show.....do they think they're not going to have loud stereo systems, scraping the ground or have hydraulics OR be 20 feet in the air?!?! How many people have been pulled over at one of the muscle car or corvette shows from burning tire?? Yeah, like that doesn't happen!! I know that you know exactly what I'm talking about and you can't tell me that there is a show that exists at Carlisle that the cops couldn't find someone to harass about aftermarket parts or some the little "things" that happens when someone is showing off their vehicle.

If you have any opinions to send my way please do. Thanks for your time............

Whos all going to Carlisle on may 5-7th. What are you bringing?

:boink I’ll be there.
