Price came in so late so it’s somewhat difficult to tell what he could do with an entire season. Then again, he’s 20 and playing pretty unbelievable. Thomas is what, 30+ and just starting to come along. I give Thomas a hell of a lot of credit because he did his time and earned his spot in the NHL, but Price is still way better.
This is gonna be a great debate until Montreal exits the playoffs. I still think Price will carry this team. Like I said, better to make the mistakes early when your team can bail you out against an 8th seed instead of cracking in the Cup Finals. And when they need him, such as this game 7, he’s rising to the occasion.
And if you’re right, well then you do get the last laugh…
Anaheim’s penalty kill was the death of them in the series against Dallas. And they couldn’t make up for the loss with their PP. Special teams, physical play, and goaltending (in no particular order) win playoff games. Anaheim just couldn’t save themselves on the PK. 5th year in a row now the Cup champions have not advanced past the 2nd round.
