Great place. I know the area very well. The walk from the parking area to the bluffs is a little bit of a hike, but the parking area is decently sized. Cool places to explore, climb around and such. The drive there is a bit less interesting than the Letchworth drive, but it’s not horrible, especially if you turn North when you hit Webster, then hug the lake as you go east towards Sodus Point.
IMO, do the spring meet at Letchworth, and if you want to organize an NYSpeed track meeting at BeaveRun/Nelson Ledges/Runway roll racing/Burnouts at Cherry Valley day do that separately.
I should have been more specific: we’re looking to rent a track FACILITY. Unlike a state park, a track FACILITY will be more tolerable of a lot of cars, noise, etc.
Any use of an actual track or drag strip on site is SECONDARY to finding a location that everyone can get to.
This is NOT a track day thread.
I don’t expect many if at all to actually want to run their cars 2 hours from home. But if the OPTION exists, and a few people are interested we’ll add it as well.
This is the same formula as Lancaster in previous years. Show up, hang out, eat. Maybe watch a few cars do burnouts or drive on a track if one is available.

I C Good plan dearest leader.
I still vote for an airfield
This is a possibility. It’s been suggested a few times over the years.
Ahhh, makes more sense.
Airfield seems like it would be best, but also the hardest to come by.
I’ve looked. Our best bet was Seneca Army Depot and that’s dead. If someone has a connection to a small PAVED airport in CNY that could work.
The State Fairgrounds has a large paved area and holds car shows & auto-x already, I’ve mentioned this as an option.
Luckys?
^^^^^
Cant you just hack some satellite and find us an abandoned airfield that we can take over for a day until we get booted?
i agree with others as to keep any sort of racing and a meet seperate. though i’ve never been to any of these places so i don’t know what kind of parks they have.
chimney bluffs was pretty cool. the area around there is neat as well but i don’t know how’d it’d be for a meet or even where to have it.
Watkins Glen state park is the best kept secret.
I just want to do burnouts.
you’re not ready for directions to RaceWarz yet.
Any chance of it also being kid friendly. Not saying kids events, but a place that’s not dangerous for children. Not 100% sure with the way things are at the moment if i could even go, but being able to bring the kids would make it a much stronger possibility.
Or short ones for that matter.
We can see how it does against the Green Machine for a short bit some time
Oh, a little friendly humor and you go right to the fisticuffs? So it’s gonna be like that huh? I’m running out of room to carve Mustang notches in my dash.
Its on like Donkey Kong! Good thing you dont have room because you wont need it
