Longest burnout contest. No safety 1/4 mile runs. Just a local place to cause a ruckus.
The insurance would be hysterical. Not to mention it’s no longer than that back woods 1/4 mile track Josh went to where you can go do whatever the fuck you want. Or Ronnie’s oval where you can do burnouts to your heart’s content.
I get all that but its closer to home…it was just a thought.
Yes we’ve looked into it and no they won’t let us. We even met with owner and town officials about it. The town wasn’t thrilled. One of the neighbors is a HUGE NIMBY and objected to EVERYTHING.
This was a few years ago. The runway was in OK shape then. Now it’s used for car storage or something.
So whats the big plans for this year?

I just spoke with the new manager for the drag strip at Lancaster. The owner has hired all new management and is now involved in trying to turn the place around. They have some pretty cool events planned for the season already. I told her about nyspeeds history with this event and she said she would reach out to someone.
i’d like to see some more social stuff too… dinners, cigars, general shooting the shit type things before spring… we have a few bucks to throw at something like this.
