Here is the deal, swimming is a much better work out then running (my own point of view, but I do both). If you would like to learn how to swim laps, or want to swim laps in a group… lets doooooo it.
I travel for work so I can not do a set date/ time every week. But I still swim when I am traveling and will kick your a$$ when I get back into town.
My girlfriend swam in high school. I’ve always wanted to learn at least freestyle. My form is terrible and I’d love to get to a point where I could actually swim with her, haha.
Look forward to Tuesday dude-bro. Eventually I should be able to swim in the big boy pool! Tuesday 6am ECC Flickinger ctr, if anyone else wants to go. Park in front of the bus station, free til 8am.
It’s definitely an incredible workout and I would actually love to start swimming, but I’m not a member to any place that has a pool. I thought about getting an alumni membership at UB but it’s too far out of the way.
My goal is to swim open water, so in the spring I would be game. NFTA is being weird around the “Pier” and swimming in the lake in open water, so just an FYI. Pier is a fine, (heard $250 plus per person) and towed car potentially. The Buffalo Triathlon Group is trying to negotiate with them now as they used to frequent the water there regularly.
I used to swim waay back in highschool. placed 3rd at nationals in calgary. I miss it sometimes. the pool at my building is too short to do any actual “swimming”
